Default Milners Residents

Hi Guys,
Think I'm first on this Milners forum. I purchased a 3 bed on Phase 1. Hoping my joining will encourage more people on the site!

Thanks
Mark

Default Hello

Hi Mark,

I have also purchased a place there in Phase 2, I was just talking to Hooke & mcDonald, looks like the completion date has been pushed out until Feb 08. I was just wondering have you heard anything else about this or had any communication from Hooke & McDonald since buying your place?

Thanks
Ciara

Default Phase 1

Hi Ciara,

I purchased in phase 1 and i was looking at my correspondences a couple of days and it stated completion was in Feb 07!!!

There was a problem with the soil on the site and the whole area had to be dug out and re-filled with better quality soil - thats what i heard from a worker at the site.

Looking forwarded to moving in but not getting any ideas or hope about when.

Mark

Default Block E

Hi,
I was on to Hooke & McD yesterday. I was told Block E, where I purchased would be ready in Feb/March '08. I live fairly close and have been keeping an eye in developments. I have to say the progress is a bit worrying!

Default Phase 1

Hi guys,

I too bought in phase 1, block F. Last I was told by Hooke & McD was September 07, but driving past, it's looking far from that!

Anyone know if it's normal to have so little information? Not panicking, just anxious to move in!

Trish

I know what ye mean going by how slow Block F is progressing there is no way that Block E will be completed in Feb 08.
I purchased my duplex in Block E last April and was told then that it would be 18 months for completion which should be Sep 07, now its delayed til Feb 08 and even at that I doubt it will be ready then.

Is there anywhere that I can complain or even find information out more information on this subject.

Default block d

I purchased in block d in may 07 , auctioneer said they would not be ready until may/june 08, I also received a letter from my solicitor confirming this and to ask if I wished to proceed with sale. If I had said no I would have lost 15 k deposit so they really have you over a barrel.

Two years is a long time to build apartments but I was told that there was problems with the foundations, as they flooded when when been dug up and they took a long time to drain so prob this is why the delay. having said that I would rather they take that bit longer and be done right than just knocked up willy nilly.

I was up there last night and cant notice much difference from the last time I was there 2 weeks ago. I pass by here every wednesday So I will try and keep you all up to date with progress.

Cool Milners Square Block D

Hi Everybody,

Dave here. I work in Santry and pass by Milners everyday. Progress slow. True the foundation flooded.

Milners Square is built on Shanowen Road. Shanowen is a direct translation to an old Irish name for "Little River", hence this is the little river Milners is being built on. An architect buddy of mine confirmed this, but asured me it's not a problem. Just the underground carpark had to be sealed not lo leak water hence the unforseen delay. Better safe than sorry.

Again I was told Block D completion Mid 2008.

Regards,
Dave

Hi Glenn,
I purchesed a 2-bed apartment in block E and managed to get a scale drawing of the plans from the planning department in Dublin City Council. They are based on wood quay in the city centre, contact details etc can be found at http://www.dublincity.ie

Thomas
