Fingal County Council had a meeting on 15th April 2009 and have declared the roads in the link above to be public roads.

The roads that are of interest to us are:

Charlestown Avenue
Charlestown Drive
Charlestown Court
Charlestown Way
Charlestown Park
Charlestown Green
Footpaths

This meeting took place before the local elections and should have been brought to our attention. Now that the roads are deemed 'public roads' by the council, they should be able to maintain them (and the grass on the verges etc) and they should also be able to errect fencing to close off the park to anything larger than a bike, buggy, wheelchair or pedestrian.

Fencing around the park will not be done now, due to budget cuts within Fingal Co. Co. They no longer have the money for it (never mind the builder having left a very large sum of money as a guarantee).

The Lanesborough Resident's Association are continuing to chase Fingal Co Co over the issue, I believe.
